Caring for patients in hospice involves a lot of different professionals; nurses, CNAs, social workers, chaplains, and in many cases, volunteers. Volunteers can often be found providing companionship to patients and/or support to families under stress. Volunteers also do a great deal behind the scenes, helping in the office, with building and grounds, and at special events supporting the work of the organization.
Whether you are interested in learning more about how you can make a difference as a volunteer, or are a family member of someone in hospice care, join us to learn about the roles a hospice volunteer plays as part of the care team, and the difference they make to patients and families as they navigate their journey.
This program is being presented by Becky Wilder from UpliftedCare (founded as Hospice of Kankakee Valley).
