Get a Library Card

If you live in our service area, you may get a library card free of charge, as part of your tax-supported library service.

Your library card allows you to:

  • Borrow books from us and from most other public libraries in Illinois.
  • Use special online collections to find magazine articles and information you can't get just by searching the web.
  • Another thing.

To get a library card, you need a photo form of identification with your current address on it.  If your photo form of identification is not current, you will need to also show two bills with your current address and name on it.

Patrons under the age of 16 must have their card filled out and signed by a parent or legal guadrian.

Renew Library Card:

Bring in your library card with your photo form of identification and we will renew your card for two more years.

Replace Library Card:

There is a $5.00 charge for lost cards.  If the card is worn out and damaged, the library will replace it for no charge.  You need to bring your card in for replacement.

You will have to show a current photo form of identification to obtain a new card.
